Never in my life...

Really, never.  I have never been so offended as I was today at the Garden Bistro in Columbia.

Let me paint a picture for you.  I was enjoying a delicious lunch with 2 wonderful friends and my sweet, happy son.  This is a cafe with lots of talking and laughing - so we were not out of place.  Then, out of no where, a ridiculous, horrible, 60ish-year-old lady walks into the picture.  Will was laughing and squealing in delight while playing with Gerry, and she says (after he squeals loudly) "put a pacifier in his mouth!!."  I thought, certainly she is joking (mind you, he is squealing, not screaming/crying...and he's a BABY).  No, not one bit - she was completely serious.  One of my lunch dates, Kelly, then says, "he doesn't need his pacifier, he's just talking to us."  The horrible excuse for an adult then says, "well he's talking too loud!!!"  TO A SEVEN MONTH OLD!  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!  You're right lady, I reminded my 7-month-old about manners at a loud, laid back, kid friendly restaurant before we left, and he must have forgotten them when we got there.  SERIOUSLY?!  I'm appalled and I've NEVER in my life seen anyone act this way towards an infant...a HAPPY infant.

Looking back, I wish I had the guts to say something smart or witty, but, at the time, I was so shocked.  I was so embarrassed for this horribly rude, awful lady's lunch date!  I must assume her day couldn't have gotten much better after taking out her aggression on a happy 7-month-old.

UGH!

Holy Cow, I literally cannot believe the audacity of some people. Give me a break! I think all you can do for miserable people like that is pray for them- she must be a miserable individual! Little Will is so precious, who in their right mind would not enjoy listening to his sweet little laugh!

I think you should have judo-chopped the old bag and let Will giggle at that.
